This is a design for animated character based on my High School art teacher, Bruce Walls. He's got a thing for penguins. I think it turned out pretty damn great :)

Entry 130: Speaker for the Dead

these are both Ender Wiggin from Orson Scott Card's novels. the shorter one is the Ender's Game age level, probably ten or eleven years old, and the sad eyed older one is from Speaker for the Dead, about 35 years old. I had a very distinct idea in my head for both of these and I think I came really really close to getting it down on paper.

Sunday is Friday and Friday is Sunday, but just this week. So there will be a Sultry Sunday Siren this week and today is Friday Photo Lunch. Colored this tonight, this is kind of the quick fix style of digital coloring, which is mostly dodging and burning, no real secondary light sources or colored hihglights, looks pretty good though for what it is :)

Today's Tuesday Replay is a Batman redesign I did about 6 years ago at the prompting of my friend Stan who wanted to see me redesign a bunch of characters. My basic idea here was that Batman had less money so his costume is a little more realistic looking and his weapons are a little less technology heavy.

Wednesday is for the funny. Expect to see cartoons, short comics or any other kind of light or comedic artwork.
this piece is based on an idea for a comic-strip that I had where a 20 something slacker gets marooned on a small island in the pacific. He's constantly trying to find ways to escape and living this rough terrible life, but all the while the natives are living almost like a Hawaiian resort or something. They are constantly talking about him in their native language and wondering why he's trying to rub two sticks together when they all just carry matches.

Tuesday Replays will be for re-drawing old pics (mine or other artist's) that I think I can improve upon. Today's is a grim reaper sketch from 1996, the new version drawn by hand and colored in photoshop in about an hour.

Entry 104: Inks finished

Finished the inks on this page, I'll post the next page as soon as I start working on it, this turned out pretty good in the end, but damn is it hard to ink someone else's stuff. The worst part is trying to figure out why each line is there and how much improvement you should add when you see the need, all in all a very educational experience.

Entry 103: Ender Wiggum

I recently read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and then tonight I watched The Simpsons Movie, and this popped in to my head, I think it's funny as hell. If you haven't read Ender's game, its not that funny,but just trust me "Ender Wiggum" is hilarious.
